My plan was simple enough: infiltrate the castle, claim the Triforce, and take over Hyrule.

This plan of mine, I had believed it to be flawless. There was no way I could be stopped! Once the completed Triforce was upon my fist, I would be ruler over all of Hyrule! It was such a simple plan, really anyone could achieve it!

Yet, it seemed as though it wouldn't be quite that simple.

The first step was like child's play. The king welcomed me with open arms, despite his daughter's objections. She warned him I came with bad intentions, but he ignored her. She was clearly upset about that, and constantly watched me for proof of my schemes.

It is the second step I struggle with.

I already had the Triforce of Power, and I took the one of Wisdom from the princess without much difficulty. It was just the one of Courage I was missing. It eluded me like the truth in a web of lies. You know it's there, yet it's almost impossible to find.

However, it almost always comes out in the end.

As soon as that hero came along, I knew he held the final piece. Just one look and I knew it. The truth was in the way he brandished his sword and in the way he fought. He tore down every horde of minions I ever sent his way. It was even in the tunic he wears. It looks just like the one the Hero of Legend supposedly wore.

Ugh, the more I think of him, the angrier I become. That mangy scoundrel has made it through every obstacle I have sent his way, making it impossible to obtain the Triforce of Courage!

But not today.

Today, I will be victorious. Today, I will reign supreme. Today, I will squash him like the pest he is! He will be nothing more than his predecessor: a legend.

I know he approaches me now, even as I plot his demise. He storms through my castle, destroying everything in his path just to get to me. He knows not what he is about to walk in to. I am too powerful. I will rip the Triforce of Courage from him, leaving him broken and useless. He comes to face me, though I don't know why. He must know it is impossible to defeat me.

So, perhaps that is why he wishes to challenge me.

Perhaps his reasoning is that he wishes to try and prove that courage is stronger than power. That courage can overcome anything. Maybe even that hope can be found as long as one has courage.

Perhaps...

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! Ha! He is free to believe whatever he wishes, but that will not change the outcome: my victory. I will triumph! I am much stronger than he! I have had just as much practice, if not more with my sword! This castle acts like a stronghold. It is my stronghold. It can not and will not be penetrated, just as I will not be defeated.

I feel him just outside my door now. I sense not just his nervousness and worry, but also his determination and bravery. No doubt due to his piece of the Triforce. But soon, that will no longer be the case.

I can see it now: the hero, beaten on the floor. He is begging for mercy. I will show him none. He dared to defy me, so I must show him and others what happens to those who do just that.

He has finally entered. His breathing is hard and rugged. He looks battered, but prepared to take me on. This does not faze me. Nor does it when he pulls his sword out of it's sheath and his shield from his back. He holds them my way, ready for a fight. I give a small, amused chuckle, finally standing up from my throne.

Then I speak. "So, you have made your way here, have you? Hm. I must applaud you for your efforts to have made it this far. However, this is where your journey ends. I have worked too hard for this, and I am not about to let it all be taken away from me by some lousy  hero. I have two of the Triforce pieces already." I show him my fist where the two triangles glow together. "I simply need the third. Yours." I pull out my own sword and begin making my way down the stairs, towards him. I continue talking as I do so. "Once the piece of Courage is mine, you will be useless. You will have served your purpose of delivering it to me. You will have failed your little mission of defeating me and saving Hyrule. And you will have failed at being the hero you were supposed to have been."

I have finally made it to the bottom. We are on opposite ends of the room. It is a true battle to end all battles. This is where everything is decided. This is where I will win.

I, Evil King Link, will destroy the hero they call Ganondorf, and Hyrule will be mine.
IT!

IS FINISHED!   Knives Faints

I have finished my Twist Fate submission!

So, basically, the story behind this for Zelda fans is that, instead of Link having Courage and Ganondorf getting power, it's swapped: Link has power and Ganondorf has courage. That makes Link the villain and Ganondorf the hero.

And now I will go catch up on the school work I didn't do because I was doing this.
