The stars glitter in the dead of night. A faint voice hums a lullaby from the grass below. A girl lies in the grass, looking up at the night sky. Her hands are behind her head, acting as a pillow, and the Summer breeze is surprisingly chill. “Hey, buttercup.” She looks over to see a young man laying down beside her, his dark hair and stubble almost invisible in the shadows. “Hey, dad.” She smiles at him. “So, what are we looking for tonight?” “I wanted to look for the Big Dipper.” He nods, pointing to the tail end of the constellation’s handle. “Y'know, I never told you this, but you always seek that one out when you’re troubled about something.” “Do I?” She looks to him, and he earnestly nods. She sighs. “Well, school’s school, y’know? Trying to keep up with homework and the volleyball team, but with work on top of that? The Angel's Requiem
It began as a simple curiosity. She knew lots about the humans that lived below on Earth, but as an angel, she’d never met one before.
